Golden Hour Engagement Session in Golden, Colorado
POV: You take your engagement photos on the edge of the Rockies with sustained winds of 50mph
A late February Sunday night in Golden, Colorado, promised a touch of spring. But the reality was far more dramatic. The sky erupted in a symphony of colors – vibrant blues, fiery oranges, soft pinks, and a kaleidoscope of yellows, painting an unforgettable canvas. And then there was the wind. Oh, the wind! Sustained gusts of 50mph battered us relentlessly, demanding a Herculean effort just to maintain our balance.
Yet, amidst this chaotic beauty, Alex and Lowell exuded an undeniable grace. They embraced the challenge, their laughter echoing through the wind, a testament to their adventurous spirits. They were determined to celebrate this unique moment, this extraordinary day, exactly as it was – unpredictable, exhilarating, and utterly unforgettable.
Couples who can laugh in the face of adversity, who cherish the beauty in the unexpected, are truly inspiring in life and in my own creativity.
After the session, we went into the nearby town of Golden for drinks and dinner with our friends to warm up a debrief on the story-worthy session.
Not pictured: Alex's hair, miraculously defying the ferocious wind, remaining perfectly styled 30 minutes after the shoot. Meanwhile, I, in a valiant attempt to tame my own mane, resorted to a hastily tied bun for the duration of the session, and still managed to get a massive knot that needed to be cut out once I returned home.
